The high school hockey team has surged out of the gates this winter, compiling an impressive 7–1 record and quickly establishing itself as one of the top programs in the region. Fueled by strong leadership, balanced scoring, and a commitment to playing the game the right way, the team’s early success has been matched by a season already rich in memorable moments.
At the center of it all is team captain Wyatt Goyette, who recently etched his name permanently into the school’s record books. Goyette surpassed the previous career scoring mark to become the program’s all-time leading scorer, reaching 122 career points and counting. The milestone carries added significance, as the former record was held by his cousin, Cody Braga, making the achievement a meaningful family moment as well as a historic one for the program.
Goyette’s accomplishment reflects not only individual talent, but also the culture of teamwork that has defined the team’s strong start. Night after night, the squad has combined disciplined defense with opportunistic offense, demonstrating poise beyond their years and a clear sense of purpose as the season continues to unfold.
Beyond the wins and records, the team has also made an impact far beyond the rink. Recently, they hosted a Teddy Bear Toss community service game, inviting spectators to bring new stuffed animals to the contest. Following the first period, fans filled the ice with stuffed animals in a powerful show of generosity and support. Team members collected the donations, which were then distributed to first responders in Wareham, Carver, and Middleboro. The stuffed animals will be given to children involved in traumatic experiences, offering comfort during difficult moments.
As the team continues its campaign, the combination of competitive success, historic achievement, and community leadership has already made this a season to remember for players, coaches, and supporters alike.
