Middleborough High School Names Alyssa Young as New Head Gymnastics Coach

Middleborough, MA — Middleborough High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Alyssa M. Young as the new Head Coach of the Middleborough / Apponequet  Gymnastics Team. A lifelong gymnast and highly experienced coach, Young brings more than a decade of coaching, program leadership, and athlete development to the Sachems program.

A Middleboro High School alumna, Young began coaching in 2009 at World Class Gymnastics before moving into a leadership role at Gym Hutt Gymnastics in Lakeville, where she currently serves as Program Director and Head Coach of the DP and Xcel competitive teams. She has extensive experience overseeing athlete training, choreography, meet preparation, and staff coordination.

Known for creating a supportive yet disciplined training environment, Young emphasizes skill progression, confidence building, and sportsmanship. She brings a strong background in strength and conditioning, safety management, and communication—along with certifications in SafeSport, CPR/First Aid, Concussion Training, and advanced USA Gymnastics coaching courses.

“I’m excited to return to Middleborough and help guide a new generation of Sachem gymnasts,” Young said. “My goal is to build a program where athletes feel supported, challenged, and proud to represent their school.”

Alyssa Young will assume her role immediately as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
