Several Sachem/Laker swimmers have officially qualified for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Sectional Meet, showcasing the depth, talent, and relentless work ethic of this year’s squad. The championship meet will take place this Friday, February 6th at 1:00 PM at the Boston Sports Institute Pool in Wellesley, MA.
Leading the charge on the girls’ side is a strong group of relay teams that have been building momentum all season. The Girls 200 Medley Relay team of Mackenzie Owen, Chloe Blette, Lillian Dwyer, and Madison Voci earned their sectional spot with a standout performance, combining precision, speed, and seamless transitions.
Lillian Dwyer will also compete individually after qualifying in both the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly. Her versatility and competitive drive have made her a key contributor across multiple events this season.
Middleborough’s depth will be on full display in the freestyle relays as well. The Girls 200 Freestyle Relay team of Chloe Blette, Grace Lynch, Madison Voci, and Lillian Dwyer secured their place at sectionals with a fast and focused swim. In the longer Girls 400 Freestyle Relay, Grace Lynch, Mackenzie Owen, Chloe Blette, and Madison Voci powered their way to a qualifying time, highlighting the team’s endurance and determination.
Qualifying for sectionals is a major accomplishment and a testament to the swimmers’ dedication in and out of the pool. The Middleborough community is proud of this group as they represent their school on one of the biggest stages of the season this Friday.
